“The president specifically discussed his proposals to invest in research and development and expand incentives for companies to grow and hire, along with his goal of doubling exports over five years to support millions of American jobs,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said after the meeting.

So in short an attempt to boost the US economy. Obama might be worried about china eh?Hombre_Lobo - China needs more to the West than West needs to China, remember this...OBBTKN
- ...until 2025 when China becomes economy leaderomg
- The stronger their economy and their middle-class, the costlier to produce goods. Double-edged sword.ETM
- Thanks pizza.

two women at the table, one we can't even identify and a bunch of pasty white guys, sans president. Strikes me how little this really represents the tech work force. Sorry to be a political nudge but this bugs me.

"I bet Steve was dying to attend this meeting! LOL".

When some of the more successful minds of the business world sit round a table like that it really makes you realise how young zuckerberg is.
He's a kid by comparison. I don't doubt he is as intelligent though.
Although jobs probably takes the cake for intelligence at that table. Bringing apple from bankruptcy to where it is. That's smart. (although I know little of the others at the table so I dunno)

Microsoft not being there is certainly puzzling.

^ I suspect it has something to do the fact that this was a Silicon Valley gathering.. Microsoft is Redmond.
- that makes senseernexbcn
- but still, this is no regular meeting, and its not like microsoft dont have a private jetautoflavour

Is the chick Meg Whitman?
- abettertomorrow0
I dont think it's much of a mystery, this meeting was mostly about the 2012 election. Obama would like to lock down these Silicon Valley billionaires as a donor base for the Democrats.

It's too bad there wasn't more effort put into the dinner. A classier setting, better photography, in-depth interviews, etc. Because it's one of those rare and bizarre moments in history that I suspect we'll need to refer back to at some point in the future and this is all the documentation we've got.

I find it interresting
but kinda creepy, maybe it's my conspiracy nut bone but should'nt this dinners be done in an underground bunker with jobs stroking a cat, schmidtz painting a woman in gold, zuckerberg working on a clone of himself and obama laughing hysterically?
