moral dilemma:
i charge by the hour, but I feel bad, because client didn't like what I did, and kinda walked me through round 2.should I charge less for round 2?
- e-pill0
YES!! you work, you charge for it, you work you deserve to be paid regardless of who is next to you, you are the one executing the work.
get paid!! chrge!! unless you want your client to know they can take advantage of you in the future, set your standards with this job, so the client knows your professionalism to your work.
charge for round 2!!

if u question it then its likely dont deserve it. unless its by hour. effort isnt measured in time
- The idea that "if they question it, they dont deserve it" is so fucking absurd.Josev
- how so? it dictates a reason to oneself of nto deserving it. assuming the logic of the viewer is solid of coursedeathboy
- Seems honest. Worse to ignore the reason for the feelings and make comparisons of others.deathboy
- In the end freshdude has to live with himself. The doubts are his and he can deal with them or take action against them so he happier with himselfdeathboy
- hes happier with himself. pretty basic wouldnt u saydeathboy

It's a trap. freshdude is either client-side or a troll or both.
I refuse to believe this is a genuine question.freshdude, let me ask you: did you like what you did in round 1?
- Your refusal to believe is your short comings, and thus you will be docked 20%TheClient

not a trap. work was a different kind than I usually do. I guess I do feel bad that it wasn't perfect.
- ridg00260
round one=never perfect. if you didnt budget for revisions, you should have. charge homey.

Bizarre question. You are too nice! Of course you charge for the time you spent on it.

Shit, I would charge more. Did the client walk you through things that they did not communicate from the start? Keep a keen eye on scope creep my friend and ask them to detail all comments in writing as a list so you (and the client) have a running tally of all changes and expectations.

go all the way, round 3

you are the back up plan / emergency exit

Getting paid for your time is a moral dilemma?

??
Or do you feel like you oversold your skills?More likely the client "walked you through it" because they couldn't explain the specs any other way....
Client's inability to articulate specs is a hugely common issue...

If you want keep this person as a client for additional work, and this is first time working with you, charge less or for free. Let them know you doing that.
Working with a client is same as working with a tailor. It's never right the first time but you get rhyme of things after.
- my tailor gets it right the first time or there is no second timemanonthestreet
- Do not do this! do this & your price will always be "too high" & they will always say they "do most of the work"voiceof

Get paid. Hours are hours. If you are charging hourly and not by project/revision then charge for hours spent.
I've had some extremely picky clients that have told me exactly what they wanted (whether I agreed or not). No worries but I still gotta gets paid.

Charge extra for 'micro-management'. If someone wants to use you as a third limb .. make them pay for it.

i charge double for being a screw-driver.
