I know it's not the most scientific, but let's give it a try...
Without looking it up, tell me the name of the museum in Washington DC that deals with the history of the Holocaust.

Went almost every year way back in high school seeing as though it was 30 minutes away. Been a couple times since.
- do you remember the name of it?nearestexit
- i know this is kind of a silly experiment since you can view what other people are typing, but i'm curious what part of the name people remember..nearestexit

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
I think I went there during a high school field trip.

Chances of getting it right are pretty high. Hardly going to be the museum of Natural Science or Modern Art.....

I think nearest exit is looking to make a case for modified naming.
The Holocaust Museum is what comes to my mind, not the longer version of the name. That's what everyone else calls it too. Haven't been there myself, but growing up in Baltimore I knew hundreds of people who had been.
You're working on a new ID for them? Envious.

ya, sorry i wasn't more clear about my intentions. I'm really just trying to find out what people think the name is. i work there so obviously i know the name (plus I can cheat and look at my business card if i forget).

i looked up the name now, seems pretty normal. are you in a stand off with your client that they have a rubbish name?

no, we're just trying to figure out the best way to represent our name/brand online, especially in places like social media. our user name varies from "USHMM" to "USHolocaustMuseum", etc. USHMM doesn't mean much to people that don't know who we are but our full name is obviously too long for certain things (e.g. twitter).
