Nice find! There's a few at work I'll be forwarding this on to. ;-)

ah.... wish I'd been able to send this to a certain designer in 2007... I got PSD's full of "copy of layer 1" and such naming entertainment for my css conversion fun....

Very nice!
btw, anyone know the font used for MANIFESTO?

He forgot about layer comps. I hate trying to figure out what layers and folders to turn on and off...

"One PSD" I'm not really for. I save out each section in different PSDs for interactive to reduce file size. PSDs often become corrupt and falter when over 1gb and mid level designers get smart object happy.

I've threatened my co-workers with a Photoshop jar they'd have to pay into for failing to name layers, use smart objects, etc. I'm sending this out tomorrow.

I opened Photoshop the other day for the first time in months, and it was chilling to me how much time I've spent over the last 20 years working in that program.

I love opening someone else's files that name layers like me.
Layer 1 crap
Layer 1 copy ugly lens flare
Layer 2 random BS
Layer 2 copy more crap

I confess to being a dick when it comes to PSD etiquettes. My psd files are so sloppy, and I just dump all of my shit to the developers to work out. I stick it right to their asses, and they have to deal with it.
- Wouldn't you like to right click and see a list of layers what wasn't bullshit?CyBrainX

the dev's probably just screenshot it all and slice and dice in imageready and give you 1999 style table code!

My boss keeps auto select layer and show transform controls on, and uses the interface like illustrator. Basically, a file with about 500 layers in it will not have one single name or group.
What's funny, though, is I've actually gotten completely used to it... and HE has a go at ME if i've been grouping things LOL
I do it anyway as much as I can in the hopes that he might one day see the benefit
