ive only used flash 3 times and that was a long time ago..
i have a 77 frame/ image sequence i created in illustrator that i have saved as individual files in sequence order.
i want to animate it in flash and add some audio to it.. i want the previous image to stay constant so the new added image will be part of the previous.
the way i illustrated it works out fine. but i have no idea what i need to do once i open flash [CS3]
do i need to have a KeyFrame for each new image [77 keyframes] ??? or do i just create 1 keyframe and just add 76 frames after the first one?
also is there a difference from import to library over import to stage?
i checked the help on adobe and searched for tutorials, and not finding the solution.
please a flash noob.

start over...got to the first key from, import first image to stage. It will ask if you want to import all images. This will put all images right after each other in their own frame.
assuming the images are named in numerical order.
image001.jpg
image002.jpg
image003.jpg
etc.

Export out sequence from Illustrator
DO NOT import as frame sequence in Flash.
Instead, select all images to import and import into one frame.
Then create a symbol for each image so you can animate it (select image hit F8).
Once you're done with that, select all symbols, right click, and select Distribute to Layers so that each symbol is on it's own layer.Than just stagger the keyframes and animate each one in at whatever timing you want.

ok i saved a swf file with audio and it looks good.. but the file size is 60megs. is that a lot for a swf file? if its a regualr size then im cool with it. but if its rather large what can i do to lower the file size?
i have 117 frames with audio.

I would say 60 MB is on the large end of things, yes:D
How big is your audio file? Maybe you need to save the images in a more compact format too. You can select "Generate Size Report" in the Publish Settings which will create a text file that breaks down the SWF file size by each element.
60 MB is too much!
- You want more like 60 KBabettertomorrow
- ok ill try to fix it. thanks.e-pill
- audio file is 3.9megse-pill
- Then it must be the image files. I guess its not surprisingly with 77 images in one file.abettertomorrow
- image files are 65megs..e-pill

Might have more luck filesize wise exporting as some kind of lossless video, then making a new fla, importing the video and using the somewhat capable compression..

i saved the file jpg quality from 100% to 80% and now file size is 18megs.. is that still too high?

18megs is still to high.

e-pill what is your intended use for this? If you just wanted to burn it to a CD or something then I just filesize is irrelevant. But if you were hoping to stream via the web, typically Flash files would not be more than a single MB (and that's pushing it).
miko has a good point though, if you could simply export the high quality version to video (from Flash or other means), then you can set it up as a streaming video and the whole thing will not be stored in the SWF itself. But instead the user would load the SWF and then trigger the video stream, and be able to download as they watched.

Yeh, to make ie even easier you can even use YouTube. If you don't have to use a SWF (from the sound of it it's likely you're not programming interactivity). So revert back to your 60meg file. Then go to File>Export>Export Movie and just export a QuickTime. Then just upload to YouTube and embed or share the YouTube link.
This is probably the easiest solution for you.

ive made a great version of it as a gif, but it has no music so it looks like its missing something..

how do i get the swf document to lets say be on my website where it is centered in the center of the page always? not sure if i am even asking it correctly..
it is now on the left of the screen but i have it set to be centered but not sure what the hell im doing..
- in dreamweaver you can grab the SWF file and hit the center at the align button at the bottom or look for 'align left' in the code and change to centerVikingKingEleven
- the code and change the align centerVikingKingEleven
- hey thanks ... it worked!!e-pill

Gotta use CSS. Just add a div around your movie like this:
<div id="movie"> (the movie) </div>
And then in the head of the document:
<style type="text/css">
#movie {
margin:auto;
}
</style>That will center it in the middle of the page.
- its a swf is that the same as movie?e-pill
