"Devil" from M NIght Shyamalan was pretty suspenseful and pretty freaky at times.

I thought this was an awesome old school style horror/suspense movie... one of the best I've seen in the last 10 years (if you like old school horror movies)

The Haunting (1963 version)
The Night of The Hunter
FreaksB&W is perfect for suspense. These are all fantastic.
Another notable mention goes to 'Rififi' but YouTube doesn't have any good clips without giving too much away. It has the best 30 mins of silent film in a 'talkie ever.
I've always had a huge affection for Amicus films; From Beyond the Grave is a favourite
But have a search for 'Asylum' on YouTube too; possibly more camp than genuinely disturbing but they really have their moments....

I watched "Crimson Peak" last week. Good special effects, the plot was just ok but it wasn't scary at all :-/
