Anyone around here up for some type of creative collab? Every new year I look for a project to get a wave of creative juices flowing, but have never collaborated with any other designers on one.
I'm sure this type of thing has gone around here before.. I think there was a moleskin or notebook project once? Something like that.. I can't quite recall if that was here.
Who is up for creating something great? Can be simple, can be complex, can be 'layer tennis', short film, animation, interpretive dance, shit I do not care.. as long as its unique and makes our community stand out. Something that hypes you up to be creative in the new year.
Are you up for the challenge?

maybe a new QBNTPE or QBNTPhE?

AHAHAHAHAHA yes the moleskine project. it was a clusterfuck because fools lost both of the moleskines that were going around.

There's also the A Better Tomorrow book, which went totally great and smoothly, and in fact is almost out on shelves now.

The QBNTPEs went comparatively better. This last one, only two people on the final list ended up welshing (dibec and version3):
- you're funnydoublespaced
- funny cause it's truedopepope
- Welshing? What the shizz is that?
Is it like felching?Hombre_Lobo_2 - welsh - racist term meaning to go back on a promise.bigtrick

I'm in. as long as it is cheap (or free) to complete

I will put $500- towards a worthy QBN project, I am sure that QBN will match it...

glad some people are into this. I haven't worked out a specific idea yet to be completely honest. I know we all specialize in our own things, so figuring that out will be the biggest step.
let's try to keep it free or super cheap, just to make it easy on everyone. I'd like to figure out a concept this week so we can get rolling on this. Feel free to drop any cool examples of collabs here to inspire us.
- damn it. so no car commerical then. hm.akrok

Is there something we can do to help people through design?
Anyone have an idea yet?
I was thinking maybe a QBN short animation but they may be hard to collaborate. and wouldn't really do anything for anyone.
I am bumping this up because good things will not go to waste.

Okay ya'll, I've got an idea. Sorry for the delay, last week was a rough one to come back to after the holiday.
I'm biased when I suggest this because I'm an animator, but I would love to do a visual essay.. a motion piece with a message. Knife party, but with less of an agenda.
Samples:
http://vimeo.com/channels/visual…We tap the great minds of QBN for this. We need typists and graphic designers, but also some new media folks who can handle After Effects and most likely a little bit of 3D. We need a writer to come up with a script, and we need people to do some research about whatever topic we decide on doing.
Something that popped in my head is a call to action, a PSA that asks people to chill the fuck out. This AZ shooting stuff, the political climate of 'us vs them'.. its fucked. It's broken. And frankly, people need to be shouted at and told to calm the fuck down before we all kill ourselves. A better tomorrow.. lets make one.
What say you, QBN? If we're not down for this, I'm cool with making a short film about the rise an fall of Brett Bash instead.
