Looking to find the classy serif typeface used on the Heal's storefront on Tottenhamd Court Road, London.
Distinctive features are the high bar on the A, the ampersand, and the smooth curve of the S.

theres an up market version of ikea in manchester called HEALS
is it the same company ?

Yeah that's the same company. Heal's is an English department store that opened 100 years ago. The Tottenham Court Road branch is their flagship store that opened in about 1840. Unfortunately their logo has been modernised since, which is why the photos I supplied are different from the logo on their website. All of this, however, leaves me no closer to finding the font...
- the name looks nice in Narziss.

If it's from 1840 t was probably hand drawn or painted by a sign painter. The samples aren't even consistent -- the weight on the heavier stroke of the "A" changes, the stress on the "O" varies.

Like Josev says, has a Eric Gill's feeling, hand draw,...near the David Jones works or Ralph Bayer...

It's the lick on the A that's the hard to find detail. Plenty of Romans similar otherwise.

Hey thanks for the input. Josev's probably right - considering its on a storefront from around 1840 it would most likely be hand rendered. Which is a pity because it's as classy as a castle full of aristocrats. I think I'll have a go at modding something myself.
