Good to see the only reason you only care about the place is because of the ease of access to the stuff. Fucking stoners... *rant*

my dream was to hit amsterdam one day. now, that dream may be lost to governments. can't we just enjoy what this planet has given us, without some other schmuck telling us how we should live our lives? geez.

Let me shed some background information on this. The south of the Netherlands has known for decades a lot of drug tourism from Belgium, France and Germany. This has caused and keeps causing problems in cities where these coffee shops are. Besides, owning marihuana and hash in those countries is still criminalized. For years border communities have tried to come up with ways of dealing with these "tourists". This seems to be the most plausible way. These border communities are the loudest voices in the call for these new rules.
If you ask me, though. It'll just create an underground dealer network all over again. Catering to foreigners. Local people with passes can easily get access to the stuff and - of course - sell it again for €€€. It just shifts the problem elsewhere.

what's going on with this new conservative government?

what will happen is that more street dealers will pop up.

obviously.... and then you get into turf wars.... i'm cool with them doing this in border towns cuz the stuff ain't legal in the countries they bring it back to, but no one goes to the dam and brings shit back...
you go there to smoke it.

making it illegal, in any capacity just generates crime
