I really didn't think I was gonna like this album. I love their others, but after all the hype I thought it was gonna be a let down.
How wrong I was! Listened to the album a few times and it's epic. The thing I like most about it is how it sounds like its from another time zone or foreign land entirely.
I get the impression they sat in a room and did their own thing and didn't care for anything else. Like most outstanding original artists (in all fields).
Awesome!!

hate to be a hater but the worst parts are all the Pharrell Williams parts.

"Is this album any good? Sadly, no."

an article that says the album is bad, has EXACTLY the same weight than another article that says the album is great. Which renders opinion articles about music completely pointless.Let's face it, music is just like drugs, you are never going to get the true experience by reading about it and the only way to know if you are going to like them is to experience it yourself.

I've given this a few solid attentive listens. And I never thought I'd say "there's some impressive drumming" on a DP album - but sho nuff, I said it.
I do like the track with Noah, but the "Touch" song with Paul Williams reminds me of Styx or some shit. I respect the fact that they're trying to go in completely different directions, but some directions are terrible.
