I hate champagne hangovers! but try a brut from Maison Louis Roederer if you want to spend some money:
(I think they make that cristal seen in hiphop clips around 2000)or if you want to go less expensive, try cava as suggested or a good prosecco (quality is as good as champagne, just produced in a different region and way less expensive).
- True..... champaign hangovers are THE WORST for me...vaxorcist

I'm into a sweet or pinot grio type of taste. very smooth. nothing thats going to be sour or slightly bitter. Also anyone got a link to a site that desribes whats brut and grand piper and such terms.
Like I said I've had Moet, it still not as smooth as I'd like. but kinda sweet. They do have a good variety of champagnes I haven't tried. Maybe i fyou gues could go back and post the taste as you thought it was.

great champagnes are highly dependent on your access to them.
i'm a big fan of Egly-Ouriet but it can be difficult to find here in NYC and probably more-so elsewhere in the states. it pays off quickly to go to a good wine shop and ask them what small batch champagnes they have... and avoid the big "known" names altogether.
- yes, because the more people that like it, the worse it is. this applies to music too.bigtrick

- i meant that you get a more refined flavored wine than a big label, and you aren't paying for their nat'l add campaign.MrAbominable
