lets just say ive been all over. and frankly, i thought there was something more. all these jetsetters who like to ramble on about experiencing different cultures and people. its all the same shit.
sausage tastes the damn same everywhere. pasta tastes no better in italy than various places in the US. i had no better tasting food in thailand then i did in say, San Francisco, or even Sydney.
the people? come on. 99% of people in the world are lazy, boring, have nothing to talk about, don't want to talk, have the same facade, are all living the same day-to-day miserable existence as everyone else. it doesn't change where you are.
people in England are as miserable or as happy as any ive ever experienced. the average guy ive met in Russia have no greater insight on life/experience than the average guy ive met in Miami.
living in the suburb of seattle for a while? different slice of the same shit in Ireland. same boring, boring people, just going about their lives. go to the local grocer for a bagel. go home. goto sleep at 10 cuz theres nothing else to do.
or wait, i could stay up all night in NYC till 4am and wake up hungover in the morning. oh wait, you just HAVE to experience the rave scene in eastern europe. its the same damned shit. a ramshack warehouse stacked with the same neon lights, same drugs, same exact people. there is absolutely no difference.
so anyone who says there's "greater cultures" to be experienced in the world knows fuck all and is just trying to desperately sound impressive.

it certainly appears you've been doing it wrong.

Uh huh. Because you speak 500 languages and talked to all of them and figured out they are boring?
Maybe YOU are so boring that every person in the world becomes bored in your presence, did you ever think of that?

I've also been "all over" and have had the exact opposite interpretation.
So... yeah.
- I hear you, but there are Walmarts, Mcdonalds, pain, love, hunger, death, sorrow, happiness and art everywhere. Essentially we are all the same.epigraph
- we are all the same. It's how we experience it that is different.epigraph
- Walmarts & McDonalds everywhere? You're cute.asinomasimp1e

I propose you go surfing somewhere. In my experience, surfers are the best people on the planet, hanging out with them and at the ocean for some time will bring peace to your mind and your soul.
- oh, not to mention gay breadmaker surfers!maikel

right on my friend! Your experience has nothing to do with your attitude or preconceptions.
