Boxee user and loving it.
I've a sff pc with hdmi out to my tv (and optical out to my amp) which houses all the media, locally and on connected external drives. It's also my backup box.
Downloaded movies/tv-shows and music gets sorted, and all info added automatically by boxee. It's a delight controlling the box remotely, downloading a show/movie elsewhere, and finding everything neat and tidy for watching.
Since the box is on my network I can use my iphone as a remote. Boxee have an app. Pretty great. And free.

^ app is so so. Hard to use at times. But Boxee the software I'd perform a loving, caring Gonzo on if I could.

XBMC here, running on a 2006 MacBook Pro

Wasn't xbmc the predecessor to Boxee?

Had a very good experience with the WDTV. I'd probably consider a Boxee if I was buying today but they're a tad expensive

Xbox/PS3 with streaming software (Connect360/MediaLink by Null River Software) to MacBook Pro. Works perfectly!
