I was asked to host a local trivia night tomorrow.

Format is two halves, 15 questions each half, with a fairly open format for questions (multiple choice, fill in the blank, spelling, etc.). I have a couple of slots that I need to fill and am coming up empty. I also need to refine my questions in general.

We try to keep questions fairly "common knowledge". I've got no SCIENCE/TECH or GOVT/POLITICS/WAR questions yet (have a hard time coming up with something unique that hasn't been used already, and haven't been paying attention to news the last few weeks).

    Here's my line-up so far:

    1. Name the top 7 out of 10 Cyber Monday e-tailers.
(Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Sears, JC Penney, Staples, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Overstock.com)

    2. Local crime stats

    3. Government/politics question?

    3. Softball - Steve Nash has actually dunked a basketball in an NBA game (False)

    4. Album ID (LL Cool J's Radio or Miss Antebellum--#1 sales album of 2010 so far)

    5. This musician just released his autobiography, "Life."

    6. This American-invented contact sport (which has seen a major revival in popularity during the mid-2000's) includes the player positions of the "jammer" and the "pivot."

    7. Lesser-known works by famous authors:
    "Factotum", 1975
    "Barfly", 1984
Play the Piano Drunk Like a Percussion Instrument Until the Fingers Begin to Bleed a Bit, 1979

    8. Milton Bradley's first board game (Life, originally called "The Checkered Game of Life."

    9. Poker Hand Pairing (pocket rockets, blackjack, doyle brunson, ducks) OR player nicknames pairing (Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson, Phil "The Poker Brat" Hellmuth, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Katja "Slick" Thater)

    10. Fastest rollercoaster in the world? Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)

    11. The English famously improved upon the "savannah bow" to create the longbow. Who is most famously attributed with the invention of the composite bow? (The Huns)

    12. In the world of graphic design and in printing, the letter K denotes which color (ex: CMYK)?

    13. Define the word toxophilite.

    14. Spelling (ingenue, hors d'oeuvre, chauffeur)

    15. Wrestler ID (Brutus Beefcake / Chyna / Bobbi Ballard)

    16. What are diacritics?

    17. Reflexology is a type of massage that deals with pressure points on which two parts of the body?

    18. Anagram

    19. Ordering of places closest to furthest away.

    20. Top movie of the weeked (too easy?)

    21. Name the 1 actor in 3 diff movies

    22. Celebrity face mashup (top half= bottom half= )

    23. Video game ID

    24. Shopping comparison (which sold more Black Friday or Cyber Monday in 2009?)

    25. Something about the TSA?

    26. Ingredients in "purple drank"

    27. Horror movie poster ID (Suspiria)

    28. Dead presidents question?

    29. Famous assassinations?

    30. Constellations/seasonal?

    31. Food

    32. GI Joe identification?

    33. Beatles and supergroup of yesteryear to also go to iTunes after Beatles announcement? ( Led Zeppelin)
(OR top-selling Beatles song on iTunes)?

I'm interested to hear some ideas from you guys. Keep in mind the participants are all over the place in terms of age, so I'd like to avoid anything incredibly niche, like pedobear, tubgirl, etc.

no offence but some of those questions are pretty dull: spellings and word definitions for example.

Also, a lot of your questions are easy to google from a smart phone. Which happens these days. Maybe think about questions that are hard to google.
Picture questions are great for that since you can reverse google an image

spelling and definition are staple questions.

smart phones are banned from trivia. most people take the night seriously and wouldn't bother cheating.
