If anyones got the chance, would love some feedback from the QBN world on a recent piece I did for designer Heidi Ackerman - Kind of an interpretation of some of her pieces.

I thought it was about Boobs' Charlie Harper shirt.

nice.

Great piece.
What did you do? Editing? Conceptualizer the idea? Did you shoot some of the video?

Visually interesting... I wish that you had used some white burn out effects on some of the cuts opposed to all black burn out cuts...

tell derek QBN says hai !

I will tell derek.
I conceptualized / shot / directed & edited (in 3 days for a deadline) with some help on the production part. it was for a fashion party in toronto.

Little too hipsterish for my taste, but it's quite in line with what's going on in fashion, I suppose. I went to an event the other night at the Thompson and they were basically showing the same thing.
I'm not hatin', as it's executed quite well and your other work is nice. Love that you use High Park in a lot of your work, you go to OCAD?(says you're a film student in your profile)

too hipsterish? hm. if you have time to elaborate how so (then i can maybe learn to move away from that kind of labelling)...? is it cause her hair cut? or just general vibe you're getting from it.
I actually am in fourth year at Ryerson for fashion communication. almost done !

Don't sweat it, that's just my two cents, which doesn't mean shit. I just prefer your work that's in an environment like the playground on the east side of High Park(not as cliche as most studio work). I guess some of the video seemed forced, the model I didn't like, she was too rigid and some of her movements were lame, expected.
You've got talent, though and good luck in your final year at Ryerson. I'm sure you'll do well when you graduate.

^ agree with andrew.. really nice moments. some movements were a little weak.. i was expecting more of a build up with the model and chains for some reason

thank you - everyones two cents are worth something to me - i really appreciate the feedback - it's good to hear it from people that don't know you personally

Reminds me of Maison Martin Margiela slightly
- brandelec0
also, would be nice to capture more of the model's expressions. just seems like a let-down when we finally see her face but she's only rocking the same look.. almost as if she's acting for a photographer. i think some subtle looks and head turns combined with quick cuts of her doing something more dynamic would be nice

it all seems a bit slow to me (like you're trying really hard)
every cut should add meaning or value

Some fashion vid stuff that I like:
<- It's a teaser, but it illustrates the story nicely, giving off a style beyond the clothing. Creating an attitude for the brand. This video for Native Shoes is super rad too:
- Maybe even ridiculous, but it's styled well and is definitely original.Check out Jun Takahashi for UNDERCOVER 2011 S / S COLLECTION "UNDERMAN":
You're still student, so these things will come with experience. Also, you only had a couple days on this vid, so I'd say you did well given the time span.

ha native shoes ad.
- SrSamaurai0
my favorite part was the wardrobe malfunction
- jetSkii0
too much cut for me with that music. the video was much too fast for something i think should have been shot at a slower pace.
