withholding judgment until the price is known

i hope it ends up being easier to use than the sigma, and cheaper than the leica.

So did anyone get one of these?
- inteliboy0
Have had one for almost a week - it's the first digital camera i've owned outside of work. Been waiting for bloody ages for a camera with a decent sized sensor that can all manual through a viewfinder and not look at a screen.
I'd say everything about it is A+ except for the focusing on the lens -- it's almost impossible, takes 10+ turns just to shift focus - hopefully a fix is coming with firmware.

the demand for this camera was so high, that Fuji says they cannot meet. Pair that with the Earthquake disaster in Japan, America will not see this camera for a while longer, than the original date promised.
I've heard people in Asia that have gotten them, and in the UK (I believe) but I've heard good reviews so far.

The autofocus is pretty great actually. The camera is very customisable, so you can pretty much set it up to exactly how you like to shoot.
I have -- manual focus, shutter and aperture - and use the optical viewfinder. When about to take a shoot, there is this AEF button that you can press and the camera auto focuses, pretty nifty.

The lack of mechanical link on the lens to manually focus is a bit of a shame. Wonder how fast the autofocus is — they mention in a few reviews it's a bit sluggish.
Wd be good if they brought an all-black version as well, for stealthy candid goodness.

can someone explain the problem with manual focus? Is the lens ring shit for it...?
- inteliboy0
it's one of those lenses where you can keep turning and turning the focus ring - with the x100 you need to turn many many times to shift from infinity -> 1ft... pain in the ass.
There are workarounds, and it could easily be fixed in firmware, so not such a big deal just yet.

somebody said the hi iso performance approaches the D3--that would be phenomenal

I went to look at this yesterday, it's HUGE! And it's size isn't made any better by it's design. It's about twice the size of an olympus trip 35. Really disappointed, I'm sure the size / ergonomics could have been better, regardless of how powerful the camera is.
- Weird... The first thing I thought was how small it was... Guess it depends what you're used to.inteliboy

@inteliboy yes true. If I was spending this kind of money on a fixed lens I'd want it smaller though. It'd not far off the same volume as a 550d with 50mm lens, and the same weight. At present I'm using a Ricoh GRD3 so I guess I compared too much with that.
