Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on business VOIP service in the Toronto area. We are a small shop looking to upgrade our business line and wondering if VOIP is a viable option vs. Bell etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated....

Call quality is a big factor. Customers get very frusterated by delays, echos and garbled sound when dealing with a business. VOIP call quality just isn't there currently, especially on soft phones - which are terrible. Maybe some very expensive compression hardware makes it feasible, but the cost per line wouldn't work for a small company.

Unless you're doing a LOT of long distance calls and need a lot of lines, it's probably not a whole lot cheaper than a business line. Pay a bit more and get a proper service, and you won't sound like some kind of scam call center.

    • Thanks, the more I ask around this seems to be the answer. It's not really a question of price just thought the functionality would be better with VOIP.bobzee
