Thru some other forum ( can't remember which ), as I was looking for a site Crit ages ago.
They did warn me about the ferocity of NTers ;)

it was 2002 i was on my long trips in China, and since most websites, news sites are blocked over there i didnt have any idea what was going on in the world, especially in NYC.
after trying to find a news site with no luck i contacted my good friend dopepope. and i asked him if he knew of any news sites outside of bbc or cnn as i was lost to the outside world.
he sent me the link to Newstoday.com and since i never heard of it, i asked, what is Newstoday?
he only replied.. "It's the News"
and that was that.. it wasnt til 2003 that i signed on an account 3 weeks prior to flavorful and 3 weeks after jaline..
but i was there when it all started.

Don't remember..but it had to be in the fall of 2000. That's when I met my now wife and I remember the first time I spent the night, I woke up early checked my laptop and opened Newstoday. The volume was up really loud and she leapt out of bed as "NEWSTODAY!" rang out. Amazing she stayed with me. I used "TheTick" back then before I got a whole bunch of those old school banzored qbn strike emails..

i always thought it was born out of Dreamless shutting down, but it could very well have just been a link blasted on all those K10k, DIK, Holodeck73, threeoh sort of sites at the same time.
