the video elektro posted looks like fun. im thinking about buying it, Do you HAVE to install java run time to play?
- Yes, you do. Java run time is a standard application by now, I would think.PositiveintenT

They have already said it would be cross-platform and not restricted to their platforms, though I am sure their platforms will have extra benefits.
Speculation (which is all that exists at this point) is that they are looking for beneficial product tie-ins and more importantly having a property that actually develops brand awareness and mind share in younger consumers. Xbox is limiting and this lets them touch markets and marketplaces previously unavailable... PS4 for example...
- and their own mobile platform, for which minecraft has never existedmonospaced
- Yes, in that point you are correct. Though I doubt it would sell many Win phones at this stage.ETM

Thing of the licensing plays. How about cashing in like Lego and having all sorts of Mindcraft flavours with various hot IP. What if they made a line of physical Mindcraft toys like Lego, in partnership with a toy company. Minecraft movies or animated TV show. Maybe a Netflix show.
- Lego already licensed Minecraft and created toys... Boom! Head Exploded!!Knuckleberry
- Licensing has expirations.ETM
- Or they can just reap the existing benefits and renew.ETM

^ Pretentious twaddle. Games, and computer files, do not work like that. He certainly nailed the theme better than the rest, but religion is not a one-to-one-to-one-to-one chain, it's more of a tell-two-friends pyramid scheme.

Minecraft for people who wish Minecraft was an FPS, apparently.

the question is, are all you hardcore minecrafters mining your material or using the version with all materials already accessible??
im not sure how to play the version with all materials accessible and having no need to mine.
is that the infdev version?

this game is pure crack. I bought it a few days ago and can't stop playing. though I must admit I feel really slow in the game.
I see some of the shit people have built and I honestly have NO clue how they mined so many resources. While I play I constantly reference the wiki for information on what to make. But in a way the world is really overwhelming. Its hard for me to pick a focus and stay with it.
That, and I also constantly die, causing me to drop everything I own that I haven't stowed away in a box yet. Its really fucking annoying.

If Minecraft looked like this I would be playing Minecraft:

infdev version has better water dynamics but once you go online people tend to flood (then crash) the server.
beta has it so you have to collect all blocks and the water is much more controllable. For my Saturn 5, im not really "playing" the game in its original spec. (more of making models and whatnot) so i don't mind cheating and adding the blocks i need. mind you collecting enough oblivion would add a few weeks to the construction.
- thats what prompted my post, so much obsidian!
how do you get all the blocks without mining then?Hombre_Lobo_2
