Creator of Veranda and Georgia typefaces among the others won the MacArthur Fellows award for 2010. Matthew Carter a type designer living in Cambridge, Massachusetts will receive $500,000 in “no strings attached” support over the next five years

OK ... sp, the guy who designs one of the ugliest typefaces ever made gets a cool 100k a year for five years for giving us that abortion of a font with no strings attached, whilst people with real talent sit there idle in unemployment Hell for who knows how long.
