On October 2nd in New York City, 16 competitors gather at Webster Hall to participate in live competitions in 2D, 3D and Motion design to claim their place in the Cut&Paste 2010 Global Digital Design Championships. This is the launch of an unmissable live design tournament reaching the global creativity community. The tour then travels to San Francisco on October 8th and Los Angeles on October 9th, followed by London, Berlin, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Bangkok, Seoul, and Tokyo culminating with the Global Championship in New York City in February, 2011. For its third global Digital Design Tournament, Cut&Paste will build on the success of its 2009 world tour, hosting competitions in 10 cities worldwide, presenting the world’s best stage for designers. A total of 30 expenses-paid winners will journey to New York City where the locally crowned champions will battle for top honors against the best the design world has to offer. One honor includes an opportunity to create a special short motion video for Converse awarded to the top Motion Designer. 2010 is expected to draw some of the best talent and biggest crowds to-date.

I'll be at the New York event. It should be really fun. There's an after party too http://www.cutandpaste.com/event…. Any idea how to delete my duplicate post btw?

I've been to two of these. It would be great if the event solved a design issue someone was having.

I was a bit underwhelmed at the last one I went to.

I went to the london one last year - as duckseason said, it was underwhelming.
