Do companies work you long hours?

something else to consider in your calculation is that tax is very low.

in China, there is probably some kid who could do your job twice as fast and better for $2/hr

was there at the weekend. my friend has a tatty 50sqM apartment near the racecourse. hkd38k. (£3500) Same thing in London would be around £1500. I'm still in shock.

People live in really tiny apartments in HK, it's just how it is.
But everything else is so fucking cheap! Food and alcohol cost nothing, clothes and retail are cheap
- mydo0
alcohol? you're joking. it's fucking £12 a pint in some bars.

Well if you're one of those Brit tourists how hangs out with other Brits at foe-Irish pubs in Hong Kong, then that's probably true, I only ever drank at local places. A tall bottle of Singha cost me the equivalent of 80 cents Australian at 7/11

anybody

Without seeing your work or knowing your experience it's very hard to say. Working for one of the big 4A's here as an Interactive AD you'd probably be clearing anything from HK$25,000-36,000.
- clearThoughts0
Jevad - do you mean per month or per year?
- clearThoughts0
I guess per month, right? Since 36K HK$ are about £3K?? I'm confused...

HK must be more expensive then NY.
i think...
if you get £60k in london, that would be around $110k in NY.
- sebastianfrench0
If your a westerner you get pay more.
Locals get pay little.
Our local staffs in HK make much much less
