Well. lets go down the check list.
- id first reboot.
- check your login for any spaces
- make sure the caps lock isnt on (obvious but it happens)
- in the ftp client, make sure your server login is for the correct server type.
In this case i assume FTP ( as opposed to SFTP, FTPES etc)
- make a new login but make it public.
to see if you can login at all. (dont forget to do a directory restriction and to remove after this is done)

try logging in use http approach.
ftp://username@domainname.com in the address barmy reasoning is i'd want to establish a connection to zero in on where the problem is coming from.

I can connect via browser through (mt) panel no problem

FTP is ancient .. forget about it.
Use SSHFS instead.
- what program?dbloc

- or SFTP in Transmit?ribit
- dbloc0
This didn't do anything...
ftp://username@domainname.com in the address bar

dbloc; google for info .. basically, you need SSH access to your server. Once you have that you can mount the remote filesystem as a new driver using SSHFS (via FUSE). It's pretty straightforward, and you can browse yr server like a local drive. The connection is encrypted too.
This link looks okay: http://www.turingtarpit.com/2009…

you can just use SFTP and Transmit for that, it's the same thing.
- sftp isn't the same .. with this you can edit a file live .. no upload / download.lukus_W
- sshfs uses the same protocol. transmit has mount remote location, it works exactly the same and he's already got transmit.acescence
- transmit.acescence
- Ah okay - well, if you use FUSE and SSHFS, once the drivers are loaded no other app is needed. Might be worth trying.lukus_W
- Transmit app doesn't need to be running and it also doesn't require Fuse.welded
- Maybe so, but SSHFS is free and totally transparent / embedded into your OSlukus_W

do you have other sites? and can you connect to them?
- acescence0
technically it should be
ftp://username@domainname.com@do...
grid usernames are

I have never had problems with other servers. It seems like (mt) does it different..
