Depending upon the quality of their laser etching, you might get quite a lot of banding on the large black areas of your design. I'd consider some kind of texture or halftoning in there, if I were in your position.
- Oh, silly me - they burn with the grain.. Still - bug burn areas are best avoided, imho.detritus
- BIG, NOT BUG!
:\detritus - Oh, it's these guys doing the engraving. Safe. Big fan.

- I still agree that a fine texture detail in the black would add something to the above design.monospaced

Strange, that example - looks like the left-side engraved one has had its 'unburnt' remainder dyed or painted in the right-side version.
Unless they went over it again with a defocused beam (which tends to carbonise things a little more)... but I dont think so?
- Or you know, they just painted it before they engraved it.jasonistaken
- No - they're both the same case (same grain detail)detritus
- I mean - you could do that with right side version, yes - but that precludes existence of left-side version. Soz, uncleardetritus

Looks iike I can't get the black finish on the right in the photo example I posted. This is from their FAQ.
Will the iPhone4 cases be available in black (sumi)?
I apologize, we don't plan on offering a sumi ( black ) option for the iphone 4 cases.- I placed my order. I wonder if I'll get it before the end of the year.CyBrain
