I have this. I enjoy it. I had some problems at my old place but a few calls later they gave me a month for free and $50 gift card. I think it's better than most of the competition, just be sure to get the 6.0mbps internet service if there is more than just you using it.
- is 6 the fastest you can get? damn, that's slow.acescence
- No, not at all. It goes much higher.pastpastdue

at&t is heavy for monthly charges.. the iphone i have that i switched from t-mobile, now my monthly bill is $120 for a phone i rarely use..
i have not a single app on the phone outside of what it came with, i use like 10 text messages a month and maybe use 100 minutes of talking time when there is a minimum of 600 minutes [might be 400] that doesnt carry over month per month and every fee is ala carte..
their service is ok.. to crap.. but i assume all service is like that..
the phones do not work underground, on the subway in america, but in asia it works perfectly fine.. so strange..i really miss using my Nokia N90 as it has every feature the iphone has plus so much more.. [but that isnt the topic on hand]
as for at&t locking me in a 2 year contract with no escape outside of jail breaking it.. i would like to switch but the phone uses them so i have to use it.
look into other services.. b4 switching..
when i was on t-mobile i never had a single dropped call not once.with at&t it is more common than the chick of the day thread getting bumped..
- pretty sure he was talking about the tv/internet service.pastpastdue
- either way at&t is just as worse as the next just slightly more worse..e-pill

^ Truth, but doesn't every cable company? They're all terrible businesses, and charge exorbitantly because they have no competitors.
In my area (Detroit) it's either AT&T or Comcast. Comcast is much more expensive and their service is much, much worse.

From what I've heard you get more for your money and the actual cable signal is better that cox...not sure about the internet service though

Make sure you take into consideration that it only allows you 4 streams at a time, and that includes recording programs.

i have it, like it. Internet was more reliable then turner, quality is better. No contract, and make sure you talk to someone if you sign up and ask for deals, they knocked an extra 30 off the bill for the first year. now they are only slightly cheaper then turner, after that years is up. menus seem more responsive then digital cable. The internet, although the same speed, just felt faster, and they give you free wifi.

I have AT&T 6.0 mbps DSL for internet. I find that i's very reliable and very reasonably priced ($40 on top of monthly land-line billing). We don't use them for uverse or any other nonsense but the DSL has been very reliable. I don't have any complaints about it.
However, I live in a pretty rural area of southeast MI, which probably makes a bit of a difference as I don't have 100's of neighbors all squandering my bandwidth.

My parents have it in california. The cable TV gets super pixelated and unwatchable every day around prime time hours.

Just made the switch...They can't set it up until the 1st. They must be backed up.

The HD Tv is shit. I had them come in and when i saw how heavily compressed the signal was i told them to take it back. I got DirecTV and its great....
Im sure the internet might be pretty fast with the fiber optic and all.....
- can't be worse than the shit I have now....dbloc

Is Fios an option?

"can't be worse than the shit I have now...."
Maybe true, but I had Charter Cable and I was happy, until I had to move. I have a pretty critical eye for video and I can see compression blocks pretty easily and they bother me. I did some research and it comes down to this:
1- Cable companies can push so much bandwidth through the pipes, so in order to offer more channels in HD they compress them.
2- Cable companies have diffrent compression algorythems, so when I used to be with Charter, their compression looked more like film grain and less like block artifacts (think youtube compression).
3- I had to move, so I got Time Warner and It was also shit.
4- Satellite companies just launch more satellites to offer more channels, like DirectTv just did early this year. You can get 1080P on demand video though it, and 1080i on their HD channels.
I am not a sales guy for Direct (cant speak for Dish since I never had them). Just what I have learned by dealing with this stuff....

i've had it for over a year now. happy with it. maybe had 2 problems with the connection, but both times had a repair person over the next day and problem solved.
