  Posterous is actually pretty useful.
  The email thing is very good.
  (where you can post info directly from an email.)

  I havn't been using it for very long but it does seem very lightweight, doesn't look like you can do too much with it. But if you just want to have a simple blog to share info it can work very well.

  Anything more than this and I would say wordpress would be a better option.

  I assume if you're comparing posterous to wordpress, you mean a hosted wordpress.com blog, which is not the same as a self-hosted wordpress install. a self-hosted wordpress install is far more flexible than the hosted version, but it will cost you money.

  I like Tumblr better than Posterous. It feels a lot more user-friendly and less clunky.
