I had a client get angry with me due to a couple of missed deadlines. The thing is, I had emailed the artwork to them in time, but the emails went into their spam folder. Client calls me up to bitch me out for not sending her the artwork, and refuses to believe that I sent the artwork in time. I got a peek into her spam folder, and sure enough, there's all the emails I sent her.
The client is 24. Do I really need to educate her on the existence and operation of a spam folder?

prove to her that it went to spam and leave it at that...
... if she's still a cunt... wander off - she's a waste of your time.

Most of the planet doesn't care about technology. They just want to get their work done and get home on time. This is only indicative of that.
So yes, you probably need to do a little education, but that's part and parcel if you want to do business these days.

Next time follow up with a phone call after sending out important stuff like final artwork.

a lot of people stumble into jobs but are completely fucking clueless, it's like dealing with children sometimes.
You wonder how the fucking company is actually making money

for what it is worth, i had a biz partner (designer) that got a nice hook up for some potential new work. then on the side, complained to me of never getting correspondence from this new work source.
"did you check your spam box?"
"oh hey they are all in here!"

Tell her you usually charge extra for gettin up inside her spam folder. So it's like, all good n' stuff.
