Question for fellow webdesigners:
You probably have been in this same situation before: you need to come up with a website layout, and the client logo just screams "center me!" (i.e. round shaped logos, crest type stuff, etc.).
Any creative solutions on centering the logo in the website header, without sacrificing the whitespace on the sides to nothingness? Or alternatives to centering it?
Thanks!

depends on the brand and content really, if it's clean and sophisticated I don't think there is anything wrong with just having the logo really. I've seen some where the logo sits in the middle of the menu before too.

Dunno if you need panic about space either side - today's trends seem to hint that deep, white header spaces are accepatable.
Fellow QBNer Dearhead posted his site for crit yesterday which heavily relies on a centrally-positioned motif... http://www.nedwright.com/

You're correct. This is definitely a web design question.

I love this.
I designed a logo for a friend a while back
now thier having a new site designed. the web site designers asked my friend to ask me if it was ok to make the logo into a long line because they couldn't design a website with a logo like that.my reply was thus.
I learnt some time ago not to become attached to my designs, I really don’t mind, and yes, a round logo isn’t ideal for web. However your logo is a house/home and this is the key concept, taking it apart because (project managers name) doesn’t know what to tell the web designer is absolutely-mind-numbingly-fuckin...
a. Make the nav shorter so the logo can sit to the left of it.
b. Put the log in the middle with the nav to the left and right.
c. don’t design a website with a 100% horizontal nav for a company with a tall logo.If B&Q can manage it I’m sure they can.
- that should say "absolutely mind numbingly fucking ridiculous"mydo

I quite like the idea of having the nav swoop behind the logo.

Wow that is proper mental, how can they not design a website that uses that logo "love your home for less" (which is a class logo by the way), who are these shonky designers.
as for solutions to the website problem of circular/centered logos, I don't really have an answer, but I thought this was quite innovative
