looks HUGE and light...calatrava is improving his mastering of space vs structure.

He might be good. I don't know why by this example. Sorry. It's shit.

...mmm NO. Is one of the worst architectes alive. Only forms. Nothing to tell, except "the good form" and we are talking in the s.XXI. All the works over the budget, construction errors, leaks, steps with differents dimensions in the Venetiian bridge... A big ego in a tiny body...(1,56 cm.) and I'm not saying he has no complex or anything...bwaah!. Some links on the courts

I was thinking the same thing, a lot of aesthetics.
His work if beautiful though, I certainly enjoy looking at it.
Also reminds me of the failed urban planning of Brasilia:

- And if you were living in Valencia (spain) i promisse you you will hate forever. Tons of concrete for nothing...:-)Miesfan

I tried to get into the presentation yesterday, sadly it was invite only (which my colleague had been invited, but didn't tell me).
He's a master, one of my personal favs for at least 15 years now. While this shot isn't the greatest, the animation shows a lot more grace to the design.
Keep in mind that all that glass will reflect sky and the surroundings, not be pure white, so it'll appear a lot less massive in reality.
I am all for it, glad Denver continues to get stararchitect's. We'll see how they raise the $650mill without taxes, gov't help, etc.
I have been amazed at the structural spans he's achieved in the last few years (always amazing, structurally, but lately just awe inspiring).
I am liking Denver more and more, I think this'll continue to put us on the international map.
