Facebook cache? 22 Responses

Guys I have a weird issue with the 'facebook like' crap button on a site.
FB obviously uses the description meta tag in oder to visualize what some1 likes on a site. The problem I have is that FB shows a cached description (from like 2 hours ago). Do you have any experience for how long FB will display the cached info?
Cheers!

I have seen it cached for far longer than 2 hours. However that said I have learned to always use a test file that way you can swap content by changing the name. fbsharetest0.html, fbsharetest1.html Then use that content in the final file cause you never get it right the first time.
Nothing like trying to explain to your client who wants to share the post the minute it goes live that the description is right and its facebooks cache showing the wrong one.
Then the client will answer back "but i cleared my cache, I know how to use the internet".
