hi guys,
We are coming online in August 2 http://www.pixelreply.com and making the last changes and tests on the http://labs.pixelreply.com
So if you find any bugs, or stuff like that please post. Still working in a lot of stuff, like preloaders, english text, etc..
Also in the playground we are performing flv performance tests, best practice to make the motion graphics work as smooth as possible...
Any tips and advices will most welcome.
thanks

a 5,3MB swf without preloader?
good luck!
- airey0
maybe he's going to add the preloader? i'v done that, add the bastard last. although at 5_ mb it's need to be several levels of external loading no?
- Elfangio0
hey, still optimizing stuff, somebody made a mistake on one image optimization!! sure 5 Mb its not acceptable!!
BUT, did even wait the 30 secs a normal broadband takes to load it and see it?

ok, actualy took 10 seconds, here's my 2ยข
site looks lovely, great work, but i think the navigation on the bottom left is a little unnatural, not used to it, and on the portfolio section itself, i think adding an "x" beside the "+" and "i" would be useful, you have to search for that <portfolio link which is not intuitive.

So, nobody see the site?????

fast on my connection, worked fine.... and I'm in Chicago, IL
You may want to make the contact page indicate you're in Portugal, as I had to google your address to figure that out.... yes, I don't speak spanish or Portuguese, but EU people may want to know where you are, not just locals....
nice work BTW... and less annoying than most flash sites...
- You have a English version in the site, but nice tip thanks.Elfangio

Somehow I clicked to a "clock" page where large color blocks with numbers indicate Dias, Horas, Min.... and I can't click on anything to go back to home or wherever I was and the browser back button doesn't work so I am at a dead end.....
- ok... I got it... I clicked on a link that to me to the "live" site that's coming soon....vaxorcist

I'm stuck on this as well. Is this where it's loading in the bg w/o a preloader? I'm on DSL here, and its long been over a minute, and I'm still on the clock page with nothing clickable.

It's hard to hate on all the quirky/zany little details but...at the end of the day if I was a big client deciding whether to hire you I'd prefer to have the focus on your work. I don't really care what studio you work in and if you show it it better look impressive. This one seems smaller than my apartment.
- ok, I see your point. This a small apartment, treu, but a nice team. The true is we dont have those key nice costumers, the big agencys take them all :D andPortugal is a small country with the population of new york!Elfangio
- ok, honestly, our work "sucks" so we decided we could go a little crazy on our self promotion...Elfangio
- I thought there was some good stuff in there...buried on the second pageukit
- I just couldn't help thinking if you had a simpler site the impression would be completely differentukit

did anybody clicked on the playground?
- Nutter0
I really miss a function to easily go to the next project. The same can be said when viewing inlarged version of the images, feels a bit tiresome to click black, next image and then enlarge. Might also be a good idea to show how many images a project contains.

as for the playground its a little buggy, i think the people need larger hit zones, right now they go jittery.

Transferring data...... .........

Cool concept. Needs some fine-tuning but overall I like it. Here are some quick notes:
- Clean up the browser page titles so they don't look like: %20%20%20
- Jumping from section to section is a bit "snappy". Take the time to outro the current section, then bring in the requested section.
- The "playground" section needs some sort of marker to show which areas are interactive. There are some cool details (like the pixels flying out of the monitor) that most people will never see. The day/night switch is cool, but it'd be better if it was a smoother transition. When you switch between everything in a "snappy" way, it feels like a dated flash site where everything was split up on different keyframes on one long timeline.
- The pixel overlay makes your background image look jagged. I can't tell if smoothing is applied to it.Kudos for using SWFAddress. Did you use Gaia framework?
- Hey,
thanks for your tips, nice sugestions, will take them in consideration for sure.
Nop, we're not using GAIA...
the title ting is because of the portuguese char!! We have to go around some how...Elfangio

Continuity is good... remember your audience may be comparing 3 or 4 design firms websites at the same time and can't remember your unique navigation, so a NEXT button is good.... simpler navigation is good for busy client cubicle people trying to decide before a lunch meeting....
Also, I liked showing your place... it shows you have more creativity than rent payments, some clients like to see low overhead, others run away thinking you're too small.... depends on target market....

the focus on nome, email in contact is not centered
