How to make a Daft Punk helmet in 17 months

    Think about the titles of their albums. "Homework" was about paying tribute to the classic Chicago and NY house music of artists like DJ Sneak, Todd Edwards, etc, which they successfully brought to a wider audience. And most of those early tracks (Da Funk, Around the World) didn't contain any recognizable samples.

    "Discovery" was about paying tribute to/ "discovering" (giddit) the overlooked, cheesy soul, funk and pop music of the late 70s. On a very few of the tracks they used large chunks of the samples, but on most its more subtle.

    Like how they sampled Barry Manilow on this track I think is pretty clever and really doesn't "rip off" the original in any way. You could say, not even really necessary, but it fits with the idea of the album.
