an interesting idea about self hosting reinvigorate's JS tracker file to improve site loads http://gsfn.us/t/18aae

Please precise.

The tracking code is included by reinvigorates server by default
The idea is to host it on your own server to improve loading time of your sites

browsers will limit http connections to a particular domain to between 2 and 4 at a time, so this could in fact end up being slower. you're better off just putting it at the end of the doc so it doesn't block loading of other assets, or load it after page render by putting some local js in your doc that loads the external file once the doc has completely rendered.

... or create multiple subdomains and split your assets across them, images.domain.com, scripts.domain.com, etc..
... but I doubt this is a good idea anyway, what happens when they update the script (which they do) and you are unaware and your tracking breaks? it's possible it won't work on a technical level anyway, see: javascript same origin policy.
