PPT to PDF problem

Got a bit of a problem. A client has sent me a PowerPoint presentation (.ppt) that has e-mail links within the document. They want the .ppt file converting into a pdf, but when I do this, using Acrobat, it loses the email links in the process.
Does anyone have any idea how to retain active links when converting from PowerPoint to pdf? Also just for reference, the links only seem to work when the PowerPoint job is viewed as a show.
Any help QBN'ers would be much appreciated, thanks.

Are they actual links, like; www.qbn.com or more like blah blah click here for info?
If the former, go to Acrobat: Advanced > Links > Create from URL's in Document.
If the latter, then I have no idea.

Place the pages into InDesign and create replacement links from there, maybe. Output the PDF from InDesign and...done!
