yes, CS4. Just thought that there may be a program I could use once the swf is produced in flash to further reduce the size again.

I downloaded a demo version of one of the paid compressors and it took bugger all off the and made the bitmaps look over compressed. I figure if you build your flash movie to be light in the first place then these things dont really help.

swf is already a compressed format. It's like trying to compress an mp3, you won't accomplish much.

srry, just got back.
yeah, there used to be apps that did this although i'm not sure if there still are.
basically the key is to use the jpg compression, sound and all the other publishing options to reduce the file size. at least that's what i do now.
i also found using png files mainly (if using raster artwork) and choose the option for flash to compress jpgs rather that their own compression setting helps. or used to. it's been a while.
