i really dug that william gibson (neuromancer!) wrote the "kill switch" and "first person shooter" episodes. those had nothing to do with the alien goo storyline; they were just entertaining sci-fi. would love to see other noted authors contribute episodes to the new series.
i'm scared that this reboot is just gonna be another stupid lowest-common-denominator cop drama.

Amazon has dropped Chris Carter's would-be series The After, so now he has time for the X-Files revival...

I've long been attracted to long stories. Big Twin Peaks fan here and thoroughly enjoyed all the Showtimes/HBO series (Californication being the latest, ironically).
I do hope they take off from where the first movie ended, add some explanations, etc. I don't think it'll just be a episode-to-episode show, too many precedents (and competition, Twin Peaks is out next year) these days and people like the binge watching (if the story were only one episode, it would lose its audience on the first not-great show).
Can't wait! Thank God for this binge watching, now I can find time and don't have to watch stupid movies!

I believe it's was the first procedural TV show who gave me the creeps
