So I'm trying to set up my Wordpress Blog to show 10 post on the first page, and then I have created "next" and "previous" buttons to go to a second page of older blog post.
I'm not sure how to set up Word press to create new pages for older post, and then order the post chronologically as I create new post.
How do you do this?

i think it depends on the theme itself, how it's set up. then i imagine there'll be a preference in the dashboard to show X posts per page. then it handles the rest for you basically (older posts).

I wish there was something like that, but from what I'm seeing it the dashboard, I don't have that setting.
Is there a way to code that into a specific part of the theme or plugins?

search through the php files for the term 'showposts' maybe to figure it out, then mod the php as necessary.

Somewhere in the admin panel there's "show x posts per page", lame.

i just want to personally apologize to spraycan for trying to help out hubb7 without any consideration for the feelings of others. i feel like such a failure, and i'm sorry. (*evaporates)

there are template tags for your theme that create the next / previous links for you...
http://codex.wordpress.org/Funct…or search for pagination plugins for more fancy means of navigation.
and there's also custom loops with pagination...
