Bean is a small, easy-to-use word processor (or more precisely, a rich text editor), designed to make writing convenient, efficient and comfortable. Bean is Open Source, fully Cocoa, and is available free of charge! MS Word, OpenOffice, etc. try to be all things to all people. But sometimes you just want the right tool for the job. That is Bean's niche.Bean is not a replacement for MS Word. It doesn't do footnotes or use stylesheets and is only partially compatible with Word's file formats. (http://www.bean-osx.com/Word97...

Try it as a footer or header but with exact placement. I know that either of those two will support first page different or whatever the hell MS calls it. I've had to do this for client letterhead before.

hey meffid, how are you creating the jpg? if you're on a mac then you'll need to save it as a jpg or export it for web and make sure you turn off the colour profile button.
pretty sure jpg is about all you can use but i don't really know.

menu > insert image from file > select image
Which file formats does it support then?
JPG = no
PNG = no
BMP = noerrrr?

Hard to explain but put the image in as a header then seperate the pages with a sections break (link to previous)

it can be done using sections or 'different odd and even' settings. the fun part is that the settings are scattered throughout the palettes.

There's a make cover page.. yes. If you edit it, it edit the whole lot.
Also when inserting ANY jpg I get: http://grab.by/4WyT

Oh. and I hope you are using an older version of word. The interface on the newer ones suck (more than the older ones!)
The other issue is that it won't recognise any fonts you use on a mac even cross platform opentype ones. You'll have to get someone on a PC to change all the styles to the fonts you want.
