NYC based strategy & product design agency Aruliden updates with a host of new work including the CHALK ping pong table for PUMA.

That ping pong table is beyond awesome. If I had $3900 to drop, I'd put it in the middle of my living room and eat dinner and breakfast off of it.
Nice clean site too.

WOW
I don't play ping pong and I'm also poor, but that table looks INSANE

Wouldn't the chalk affect the quality of bounce you get from the ping pong ball when playing?
This table is faulty in both it's function as a chalk board and as it's function as a ping pong table...

I'm sure it was not designed to match official sports standards & regulations, in fact they state so on their site:
..................................."UMA, CHALK TABLE. When did sports become so serious? When did being an athlete require you to sacrifice your life? Shouldn’t playing a sport actually involve playing? Let’s bring back the social aspects of sports. "

I think this falls into "object of desire" category.

Do they ship out to australia? :D

I love the feeling of resistance you get from dragging a fresh piece of chalk against a clean chalkboard. Ping pong ain't too shabby either.

I think this would be awesome for practicing your ping pong. Draw some boxes to aim at and go at it...
Also, I'm sure someone will use this to up the anti on beer pong or invent a new game called picpongtionary...
- tOki0
It's almost perfect in an ad agency because you can use it to brainstorm on too..

i designed a coffee table and the concept looks similar....

Pretty sure we're getting one of these at work :D

Does it actually exist? Aren't these renderings?

I don't get it. Chalkboard and ping-pong. To keep score? Why not pour some chalkboard or whiteboard paint on an existing pingpong table? And why those weird legs that fit like a toy? So you can disassemble easily? Maybe I just want to get to design and get my own ping pong table -__-

The table plays pretty true to a normal table, it's not gritty or slatey like a chalk board. The table being black compared to blue or green was strangely hard to get used to.

I don't see the point of a ping pong table that doubles as a chalk board.
How about hubcaps that are also vanity mirrors?
Kitchen sink birdbaths?
Road maps that inflate into floating pool furniture?

hehe did they miss the fact that the original stiga table folds together and rolls out? that is kinda the point of the design
