The Beatport stage was great the whole time, especially enjoyed Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers. Derrick Carter on main stage was fantastic too. Movement tent was pretty good the whole time as well and yes Corolla rocked it. All in all I had a great time and really enjoyed the city.
Detroit was a little different than I expected. I did not expect the city to be that much like a ghost town, aside form that the city is really cool. Loved a lot of the architecture. We ate lunch at Detroit Beer Company and watched some of the game, walked around downtown a bit and checked out the area around the fest. Rode the tram (only .50) from place to place if we needed to. Definitely want to go again.

also... Marco Corolla leveled that place.
- Sounds like we were at the same places. Old Miami was soooo good.discoduro

so goddamn good, the whole festival.... from hanging out on the beatport stage to watch Richie, Cvs and Chris Liebing just crush everyone... to The Old Miami with Matt Tolfrey, Matthew Dear vs. Ryan Elliot and Visionquest (Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson).... my mind is still blown.
- so jealous :). nice one, man - please retroactively vicariously have enjoyed it for me. :) ?mikotondria3

Slows is not really within walking distance of hart plaza Neither is Union Street or Cadieux Cafe. Definitely need an auto to get to those places.
You could hit-up greektown, pizza papali's is good if not a little heavy on the stomach. I'm personally not crazy about most places in greektown... but that's me.
There is good eating in the Westin Book Cadillac, which isn't too far from hart plaza - Michael Simon's Roast and also 1924 Bar / Grille.
There's a great little thai restaraunt right off of woodward + jefferson - Bangkok Crossing.
Places that are great but not in the immediate downtown area near hart plaza:
Motor City Brewery Works (excellent stone-fired pizza + brews)
Mudgies Deli (best sandwiches downtown)
Wasabi Japanese / Korean Rest. (great sushi / korean dishes)
Traffic Jam + Snug (finer dining)
Union St. Station (lunch + dinner)
Majestic Cafe (lunch + dinner)
Cass Cafe (lunch + dinner menus)
The Bronx Bar (total dive bar, great bar food + drink prices)
Atlas Global Bistro (somewhat upscale - excellent food and dining atmosphere)
Bucharest Cafe (great mediterranian bar fare)
Byblos (another great greek rest.)
Honest Johns (sandwiches + drinks)Places in historic eastern market:
Russell St. Deli (great sandwiches + soup)
Vivios - (excellent bar fare)
Milano Bakery (sandwiches + soup)
Supinos Pizzeria (new york style pizza)

a few places for out-of-towners to eat (without a car):
lafayette coney island (coney dogs)
slows (bbq)
plakas (gyro)
bluenile (ethiopian)
union street (pub food.. though it might be a bit down woodward for you)
sweet lorraine's (good normal food)
cadieux cafe- maybe even Pizza Papalis. i like it.Douglas
- How's Slows and Plakas?discoduro
- both are great, Slows is a bit away though on MichAve. I prefer Plakas gyros, but other greektown restaurants are good.Douglas
- good too... Pergasus, Parthenon. Not sure if Oslo is still open for sushi & techno.Douglas

Maybe someplace decent for dinner not to cheap not to expensive and a cool sandwich shop or something similar to grab lunch at.

I havn't been since the first two in 2000/01, but those were pretty fun. Seeing Rich do a Plastikman set would be amazing.
- discoduro0
Plastikmans first live performance in the states in 10 years. Can't wait.
- some of those early plus8/minus parties at packard were amazing.Douglas
- I've seen Richie Hawtin but never Plastikman.discoduro
