Looking for something to go with indian food - pinot i think.
what do you guys recommend.- you actually DON'T do wine + Indian. The most traditional restaurants don't even sell alcohol...maikel
- if you still want to drink something try with a light lager, suh as Tigermaikel
- Wine and Indian?
Some cultures are not to be mixed together.detritus - Try a sweet Riesling, it goes pretty well.xcreonx
- x has the idea, for spicy savory go sweet for the wine. I think of it like colors.
I'm a beer/spirit drinker normally in NYC a lot of indian restaraunts have a indian ale that is very sweet that is excellent with vindaloo!woodyBatts

Sorry chief I can't go past a good beer with Indian.
If it had to be wine I'd pick a Sauvignon Blanc or a Reisling - something crisp and fruity.

yes the conner-sewers all say to go with a sweeter flowery germanic-stylee wine (gerwurtztraminer, reisling, etc)...
our local upscale indian has a not-bad-at-all indian merlot (really!) which is ok, and I once drank champagne which worked out pretty well, but as Mr T says you really can't beat a decent beer with it (and I don't mean that Cobra piss...)

if you sever cheese with wine, dont waste the expensive stuff as cheese dulls the pallete

will be a fish dinner and will let you guys know how my choices went.

As long as the wine has alcohol in it I'm fine to drink any kind with anything at any time.

Lots of airmiles for those bottles of Barefoot, :P

fresh and crisp white (young sauvignon blanc, riesling, gerwurtztraminer are all good choices) would do it, although I do agree wine is not the best choice overall with curry, you mask the complexities of both on the palette - end result confused taste buds.
Crisp, cold fresh lager would do well, something very hoppy would also work.

although if it's (as you say) a fish dinner then my preferred wine would be a Picpoul.

read a study that said cheese will destroy your tongue's ability to distinguish good wine from two buck chuck
