Oh, and it should also probably be noted. If you're going to screen capture someone elses design and build over top of it, you should probable delete that layer before it gets handed off to the rest of the team.

You are lucky you get a psd in the first place. Working on a job just now, "designed" by someone in what seems like paint. She sent me a flattened pdf. Now having a continual battle with designer to get simple things like "what should the width of the website be?" eejit.
- just push up the pdf and make it a giant imagemap. They might understand then.sigg

So I guess you had no trouble getting my files then?

Designers should be able to code HTML so they don't design something fucking stupid/impossible but they shouldn't have to code it thats just a waste of time.

Hey,
It's nice and all to keep your files clean. Sometimes you don't have a neat little thing we all need to a better job called ENOUGH FUCKING TIME.
- jk. I'm ocd with my layers. As for the system, if youre an interactive designer your layers should follow your wireframe semanticscannonball1978
- This is so true. Good design and production takes time.Josev
- nah, good design get's pulled out of your ass on a tight deadline with an extra rush job thrown in for kicks.monNom

Also, when I get a shitty layered file thats enormous, I send it back as unacceptable. It's like getting your dinner without the plate and fork, or even uncooked.

Designers should know the possibilities and, more importantly, limitations of the code and web techniques used nowadays, and not actually have the knowledge to code it. You have front-end developers to do that in less time at better quality.
- Exactly. Anyways, there isn't much on the web that can't be done these days.monospaced

I deal with lazy architects... I ASK for eps files, clean, no titleblock - instead they export their FULL CAD files, all in TINY little lines... so I can spend 2 hours cleaning the stupid file to make it manageable
- < agreed... who do you work for?Knuckleberry
- charge those hours and they'll learn.stewart

hah...i feel your pain.

I can deal with un-named layers. If I were to make a complaint, I just want poeple to delete layers not used. When half the layers aren't used it drives me nuts :p

I hate cunts that use a new text field in photoshop for every bit of text in a site design.
Learn to use the character dialog box you lazy cunts.
Plus people who use guides that dont snap to pixel.. wtf?
:)

layers? i just do everything in paint

In a perfect world... Yeah name every layer. Reality... Jus dump the proper layers into named layer sets according to wires and use the auto select for layers...
