Two of every animal.. the story is very far fetched .. for a start - distribution of animals varies between continents. Also - how large would the arc need to be to house _all_ animals?
Why does the bible need to be taken literally? If literal belief wasn't a requirement of faith - I think there might be more Christians.
- don't worry, they pick and choose what's to be taken literally.lambsy
- yea, just because it says 2 of every animal, doesn't mean they didn't leave somePersonaNonGrata
- plus if your god - you can work around any logistical problems dude - how would u control the lions?PersonaNonGrata

Sorry, but my Turkish is a bit weak... but did she say "...stupid fuckers, you think this is thousands of years old wood? Wanna buy an iPad for twenty bucks?"

I've yet to meet someone who read the flood story untill the end.

this is a bit silly. fuckers digging around in the dirt, looking for some mythical vessel. even if they did find something, what then?

Hasn't every archeologist learned their lesson from the Indiana Jones movies? Don't go a messin' with Christian artifax!
- scarabin0
there's no way a giant vessel like that could fit inside a turkey

Here we go again with the literal argument. There doesn't need to be evidence for you to believe in the Bible and God, but here's some evidence so it must be true. The idiots came out two by two...

- That hammer does not look period accurate. In fact, they didn't use, nor have nails back then.ETM
- I was questioning the accuracy of the red sweater but I think you're right about the hammer.metal_leg_will

(from the article comments)
Mr. Logically Inclined said
obviously whether someone actually found the arc is besides the fact that it wouldn't survive glacier meltings over 5000 years, an indestructable US Army Tank would have turned to dust after 5000 years of glacier movement, providing crushing forces, and causing ice build up within the artifact itself, crystalization on the molecular level, if it takes 5 years for my picnic table to fall apart from a few feet of snow, i doubt the ability of a wooden salt water logged boat surviving 3000 years atop a mountain...hahaha

several sea's in the middle east were once much larger and it's entirely feasible that Noah and his family could have taken two of every animal in that area and put them in a massive boat while 'the earth as they knew it' was flooded with water
even if they didn't take two of every living creature, or it wasn't 40 days and 40 nights, or the entire earth wasn't flooded, do any of those details really matter?- If you're suggesting that someone got about 20 animals on a boat for a weekend trip, then welll... Still probably didn't happen.CyBrain

Well yea, I mean some kid could have just put his cat and his dog in a raft and sailed out into a lake.
Same general idea, you fuckin nitpickers.
