i think what people are worried about is the stuff that uses genes from humans and other creatures in it. but still, to most folks it's all just voodoo because they don't understand it. they're the same people that only do mushrooms instead of acid because they don't like "chemicals" or it's more "natural". despite everything being made of chemicals and arsenic being "natural".
that said, i say label the fuck out of everything. there's no reason for companies to hide what's in something other than they're scared of losing cash to these people or they're hiding something. and fuck those guys' profit.
i either grow or buy my shit from local farms at the farmer's market not because i'm worried about GMO strains or pesticides but because fuck the big guys and all their hidden interests. who knows what they're doing with my money.
- i've almost abandoned the supermarket with shopping with farmers i know. big difference in quality n almost same price. i still think heirloom seeds rway t goyurimon

This is a lot like the vaccine discussion. There are no absolutes. You can't just say that it is all "ok". There is no proof. There are no long term studies because the lobbying efforts have killed any effort to get studies done.
There are billions, probably trillions, of dollars on the line. This isn't a simple conclusion of "oh, this is what I believe" and we go on.
Personally, I think anyone that makes a blanket conclusion that "everything Monsanto does must be ok" is living with their head in the sand.
If it's all safe, label things. If there are no side effects, conduct the studies to prove.
- Except that NONE of the food you consume happened in nature. We genetically modified all of our crops through milleniums of farming. I'm not saying it's allzarkonite
- good and we shouldn't want to know what we eat but it's scientifically almost impossible to label good as non-GMO.zarkonite
- sub.good > foodzarkonite
- Completely false. That's an uneducated answer. Did you watch the videos? There's a big difference.formed

I just grabbed a fresh organic tomato straight from the garden. It's possibly the best one I've ever eaten. Monsanto couldn't create this with $100 billion worth of GMO research. Nature you rock my world. :D
- Did I mention FUCK Monsanto?ZOOP
- That organic tomato has diseases that you would have been saved from with some good old fashioned GMOukit2
- your tomato is most likely result of hundreds of years of GMO goodness.doesnotexist
- But it's not giving me cancer. Suck my tomato.ZOOP

I think the reality is more nuanced than either side is making it out to be...on one hand what doesnotexist says is true. On the other hand Monsanto does try to use GMO to dominate the market and force people into a scheme where they can only buy crops that are patented by them. Typical example of "American free market capitalism"

While we're making GMO's put firefly DNA in dogs so their poo glows in the dark.

Think GMO is the least of their food worries, considering how much crap is put in anything and they have the cheek to put things like "FAT FREE" on that crap they call chocolate

There is an interesting, precarious push and pull going on in the world today (which, ironically, gives me hope in mankind). We have Monsanto on one hand doing a good job of taking over the world, mostly to promote their products and create a world wide monopoly on food production, then on the other hand we have companies deciding to ban GMO's, anti-biotic use, etc. Both are monetarily driven and both are powerful.
I fear that this TPP will continue Monsanto's assault on the world, but who knows, information is powerful.
I've learned a lot and been pleasantly surprised to see corporation's step up (obviously mostly marketing pr, but the end result is the same - banning GMO's).
I pray we can stop this before one company control's the world's food supply. Sadly, I think it'll be generations before we can prove what the side effects are (just too much money, there will always be some scientist "proving" anything to be "safe").
