Had v4 at the office for a while thanks to the boss. Finally purchased it for myself. It's fucking ace.

Transmit 4 is all kinds of awesome, and Panic rules much

i've used transmit for years.
the latest is fucked for the single reason that the auto behaviour of the app choosing whether to upload a file via ascii or binary doesn't work correctly.
i've spoken with panic twice about this since release and it's apparently 'being worked on'.
try installing wordpress or any similar file structure that includes code and images where the auto switch option is important.
pretty average.

Who uses FTP these days?
SSHFS FTW.
- what FTP client doesn't do SFTP these days?acescence
- SSHFS makes the server another drive .. you work on it in the same way as any other local file.lukus_W
- (no client needed)lukus_W
- ... except an SSH client.acescence
- well - you do need to install / configure it .. but once it's done, it's pretty transparent. I like it a lot - made my life easier.lukus_W
- SSHFS uses SFTP, it's the same thing. you can mount SFTP disks on the desktop with transmit.acescence
- or use the terminal for quick transfers, SCP/SFTP is already installed in OS Xacescence

.. another good alternative is rsync.
