the fridge is full of condensation that will collect once you begin using it again. if you want corrosion at every point of heat or exposed metal connections, put it in there.

buy a new video card. DO NOT put your computer in the fridge.

It could be that your capacitors are starting to die.
http://jimwarholic.com/2008/07/h…If that's the case and you have a first generation imac: apple couldn't care less. And your computer will soon stop working. The best thing to do if you don't want to solder stuff yourself is to google an electronics technician near you. I found one that charged about $300 to remove the motherboard and replace 20 or so capacitors.

that's fucking nice. you should blow it up and put it on your wall.

what OS version? Mine started having issues (its all over the apple forums) with 10.6.3 so I've had to keep it at 10.6.2.

I had a similar problem on my MBP, turns out it was a batch of bad video cards that caused a problem with thousands of MBP's of that age. Even though my comp was well out of warranty it was repaired for free.

My Mac Pro desktop just started doing this recently too. Its happened twice now at totally random times. It locks the whole machine up. Is there a fix out. I feel like there was a recent video card driver update.
