Saw it Tuesday night. Not at all what I expected. Really enjoyed it. Liked Guetta, hated Guetta, came to terms with Guetta.

i still don't like guetta, but i visited his facebook and saw some of his work, and i must admit he has a shit load of it and some pieces are interesting. i can't help feel like he copied every single person he filmed! including tons of Warhol. that really annoys me.
- i guess he's the french version of warhol and banksy is the english version of Blek Le Ratrobotron3k
- still none of these guys can draw a straight line to save their life.robotron3k

so i want to go to this, but i dono if i want to bring my gf's kids - youngest one is 10 (although he does seem to be into street art). those of you who have seen it, what do you think?

nice! what luck. this beats the cab driver who got a sketch from Hirst.
"The group formerly known as Exit Through the Gift Shop receives an unexpected reward for acceding to graffiti artist's request"
- FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU...scarabin

this doesn't sound like the actions of a sell-out hack
"It's no surprise that Banksy also raises the ugly specter of art's commodification in his debut film. After his works sold at Sotheby's in 2007 for record-breaking amounts for a young artist, he posted a painting of an auction house on his website with the caption, 'I can't believe you morons actually buy this shit.'"
- meh he's just playing the anti-artist shtickDodecahedron
- at least he's somewhat genuine thoughDodecahedron

i think he's one of the most genuine artists out there. the fact that some of his pieces are being traded amongst his fans for exorbitant amounts of money doesn't detract from his genius or talent. if someone offered me half a mil for ANY of my work you can bet your balls i'd accept. and i'd laugh all the way to the bank, just as he's done.

if you wanna talk about corporate sell-out, let's talk fairey.
- quack0
banksy is so far above fairey it's sad they even get compared. sheperd doesn't have an original thought in his successful plastic head. product placement? sure, originality? no. get fuct fairey, oh wait...

I'll download it later.

i agree with chuparosa on this! in the end i feel cheated and disappointed.
Bomb it is much better at giving an overall scene of the graph writers. unlike Exit which give little if not none.
- Don't think Exit was supposed to give overall scene of "graf" not "graph"jacklalane

Just saw that movie and liked it. Although i have to wonder if the french filmmaker dude is just an actor, and a joke all put together by banksy...
- Miguex0
I loved this movie, even if it wasn't about banksy or graffiti.
Bomb was a good film as well, but it's nothing like this either, in fact this is the first movie that I saw that got highjacked in the middle and change the story completely.

He'll still never be considered a real graffiti artist by the graffiti community.
- Agreed!utopian
- Is he a "Fake" graffiti artist?ross
- he is an artistsurfito
- i mean, a CREATIVE directorsurfito
- I'd rather see his shit on walls than a lame ass tag.stoplying
- it's not even the same thingscarabin
- super duty tough work.Running_REBEL
- I think the vast majority of humanity (besides himself) doesn't consider him a graffiti artistMiguex

Loved it.
It comments heavily on hype, and how hype drives up the price of art (even if created by an unknown art illiterate Guetta).
I believed like some of you that the whole french guy art persona was the Banksy joke on everyone. Especially those who purchased his wack pieces. Time will tell.

Could have seen it at Sundance but opted for ODDSAC instead.

Finally saw this. Entertaining but I feel like I don't know which of it to believe. If MBW is real and not a Banksy prank then he totally stole those dude's ideas and made a mockery of the art world.

This is streaming on Netflix for those who haven't seen it yet.
