I'm trying to put the SWF into the same div as the transparent div. Thus making the SWF transparent as well.
How do I make the SWF not transparent but keep it inside the transparent div?
Thanks!

Huh? You say you want the SWF to be transparent as well, then you say you don't want it to be transparent.
Can you try again and explain what you need.

The SWF sits inside a div that is transparent. Thus making the SWF transparent.
I do not want that.Althought I do want the stage of the SWF to be transparent. I do not want the objects in the SWF to be transparent.
get me?

I need the SWF to be over top of the transparent div.

your code is kind of fucked up. this block in particular:
<!--[if !IE]>-->
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="nav.swf" width="900" height="153"><!--<![endif]-->
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" />
<param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
<!-- The browser displays the following alternative content for users with Flash Player 6.0 and older. -->
<div>
<h4>Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.</h4><p><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" width="112" height="33" /></a></p>
</div>
<!--[if !IE]>-->the <!--[if] --> stuff ONLY works in IE, so non-IE browsers will see that code. in firefox i get two flash objects, one nested inside the other, because of these things.
- I'm going to embed the SWF differently. I just need to know how to layer the divs...Claymantis

- I know its fine.. I am trying to figure out another problem.Claymantis

nope. Let me explain one more time.
There is a div with transparency. There is an swf.
I want the SWF to be ontop of the transparent div. So I put the SWF inside the div with transparency. Which is causing the SWF to be transparent. How do I layer the SWF, so it is not effected by the transparent div.

ahhh now i understand. you want the opacity of the div to be set in the css, but you want the swf to be at 100% opacity inside that div.
i don't think it can be done. i was having issues with this myself when trying to get a div inside a div with opacity to be at 100%. the only thing to do, i think, is to just fake it - give your #nav_bottom div a background that looks like a semi-opaque black bar on top of your photo...
sorry, can't think of anything better.
- realllllllyyyy!!!! fackkkkkClaymantis
- if you figure out something... let me know because i've never been able to ):bigtrickagain
- I suspect some JS may be needed to achieve that one.ETM

oh here's something you can try...
make another div, call it #overlay or something. use css to position #overlay right underneath #nav_bottom (position: absolute trickery), and give it a black background and opacity 80. give #nav_bottom no background color and let it just have normal opacity.
that might work...
- ok thanks , i will tryClaymantis
- yup i just tested this method out. works.bigtrickagain

You can try placing both the transparent div and a div containing the flash object within one container... so...
div
div class="trans" />
div class="flash" />
/divMake the outermost container a position relative. div.flash can be positioned absolutely on top of the trans div.trans. The draw back is that you have to have a fixed height on the div.trans container to account for the height on the div.flash container.
