A good friend of my wife travelled to Haiti days after the major quake hit the country. He's a veteran war photographer and told me this trip was harder to document than all the conflicts he's been in beforehand. He likened the streets around the capital to the holocaust. The reports, by CNN and other media outlets, that the citizens in the capital were for the most part helping each other was not true. Looting and murder was rampant. Executions for looting were common. The photos he showed me are violent and hard to look at.

Crazy. Seeing those bodies just thrown on each other does look like something you'd in the holocaust.
NSFW btw.

Apologies All. The photos here are not really safe for work, as most have dead bodies shown in them. Some are nude as well.

yeah I saw the PBS Frontline Show on the Haiti earthquake this past weekend and some of it was really hard to watch.

The pain that a lot of people were going through was mindboggling
a boy whose entire foot was gone and he's laying there without any strong pain killers. its just astounding to me. I broke my wrist (compound fracture) years ago and I can vividly recall the pain I went through. but I was lucky enough to have my wrist set into place and injected with heavy pain killers 20-30 minutes after I fractured it.
Those people with amputated limbs lay there with an aspirin and some bandages. Oh and some had hacksaws used to perform the amputations. its just unfathomable.- i asked about the images he had of amputees. he said none of those people were living.zenmasterfoo
