I am looking for a new Mac-friendly flat bed scanner. I scan alot of stuff, so I need something reliable and medium size, like, 9"x12"-11"x14" range.

I have a Canon. It's been always good to me, can't complain.

One ups or multi-page/volume scanning? If the latter be prepared to pay for the privilege...
- the Canon 680 or 860 or whatever does multi page documents, works well.adev

Canon. I have a CanoScan 8400f. I have had it a while, and never had an issue.

I've had great results with the Epson Perfection scanners over the years.

Unfortunately, if you intend to scan anything larger that 8.5x12, your choices become severely limited. Epson is out.

Well, most of the illustrative work I do is smaller, but occasionally I do something 9x12, or 11x14, and I have to scan in pieces. I have been looking at that 8400f, i might just opt for that.

I use an Epson Perfection V350 Photo. Seems ok. The large format scanners are awesome, but take a lot of desk space and are $3-4k

I have a Canon CanoScan LIDE 70. It's great. Really compact but works fine for scanning all sorts of stuff.

Anyone have more thoughts on this? I'm also looking to purchase a scanner in the near future. It would need to handle A4. Compactness is a big plus for me, so I'd be willing to compromise a bit on resolution for something that's super thin and light-weight.

BUMP!!!
I cannot find anything appropriate in terms of scanning these days!!!

Scanners are so slow. For a lot of things it's better to just use a digital camera.
- don't you find that lighting plays to big of a role in the overall quality though? a scanner omits this variable...ideaist
- and if im taking a photo of a old glossy photo probably going to get glare etctraut
- 1) I'm great with lighting.
2) If you do it right, you don't get any glare!boobs - I think a scanner is necessary .. setting up a tripod directly parallel to your paper, focusing precisely and lighting each shot is far to much work.lukus_W

I'm still pissed that my Canon Multipass doesn't work with my MBP, 3 years later.
